Meet Dr. Troy Michelson
Dr. Troy Michelson received his Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) with distinction and several awards for his clinical and academic skills from the University of Saskatchewan in 1999. He has recently become part of the Passion Dental Group and will continue to practice at Heritage Park Dental. He is a member in good standing with both the Alberta and Canadian Dental Associations.
Dr. Michelson takes great pride in providing the highest standard of dentistry possible for his patients. With his eye for detail and thorough approach, he ensures optimal results for all his patients. He believes that you never stop learning. That is why his pursuit of knowledge through continuing education is so important to him, keeping up-to-date with the latest technology and procedures; including: Implants, Sleep Apnea and Sedation Dentistry.
Dr. Michelson serves his community passionately, giving freely of both his time and his expertise. Giving back is of utmost importance to him, and over the past ten years, he has made yearly trips to the dental clinic he helps sponsor in Rwanda. He spends these trips providing dentistry to the locals and mentoring dental therapists to provide dental care when he is not there. He has also made dental mission trips to Honduras, Ecuador, and Cambodia. For Dr. Michelson, giving back doesn’t stop at Dentistry, Pre-Covid, you would find him at the Drop-In-Centre, providing meals to those less fortunate.
When not helping his patients, you will find Dr. Michelson on the water with his family, skimming the surface at high speed on a water ski, a surfboard, or just his bare feet. He loves spending time in the great outdoors and exploring the world. Dr. Michelson is the devoted father of three boys, a girl, and recently proudly earned the nickname “Grandpa T” with the addition of a cute grandson. Being a parent/grandparent has taught him the importance of patience, compassion, and kindness, evident in how he deals with all those he helps.
